Tells the story H.L. Glyn Hughes, a British officer and doctor, and Rachel Genuth, a Romanian Jewish girl, as they moved (or were moved) across Europe in the final brutal year of World War II. Although the two never met, Hughes's commitment to saving as many prisoners of Bergen-Belsen as possible saved Rachel's life.
