Description
A meticulous day-to-day account of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 2 sections: the 1st part provides a straightfoward history of the uprising; the 2nd section is a collection of 84 documents relating to the revolt. Warsaw was the 1st major civilian rebellion against the Nazis, and the Germans were especially embarrassed by the fact that it could not easily be put down, especially because the Jews had been depicted in Nazi propaganda as incapable of mounting any kind of resistance.
