Description

Transnistria was a short-lived Romanian province in the Ukraine where some 200,000 Jews were annihilated by the Romanians under the leadership of Antonescu, a fanatical ally of Hitler. The native antisemitism was reinforced by the Germans to serve their own goals. The author, a rabbi, escaped in 1942 after failing to convince his fellow Jews of the coming danger.
