Description

A well-researched scholarly study of the role of Palestine's Zionist leadership and the role of the entire Yishuv-Jewish community in the Holocaust. The central issue is whether or not that leadership did everything possible to rescue Europe's Jews. Some issues discussed include the initial failure to understand Nazi intentions, the nature of subsequent rescue efforts, and the political effort to involve the U.S. and Great Britain. Concludes that relatively little was done and explains the complex reasons for the inaction.
