Description
This novel is based on notes given to him by Roman Mirga, the main character in the story, so although written as a novel, is is actually a personal account of Mirga's experience as a Polish gypsy from 1942-1945. Mirga was in his teens at the time, the son of a man who led the tribe out of Poland only to fall into the hands of the Nazis as they invaded Hungary.
