Description

It is the winter of 1945 in the last days of the war in occupied Holland. A Nazi collaborator, infamous for his cruelty, is assassinated. The Germans retaliate by slaughtering an innocent family: only the youngest son, Anton Steenwijk survives. This novel traces the repurcussions of this nightmarish event on Anton's life
