Catalogue of an exhibition at Beth Hatefutsoth on the Jews of China. From about the middle of the 19th till the middle of the 20th century, Jewish communities flourished on Chinese soil. The story of these communities is a tale of venturesome immigrants in search of new directions of endeavour, and of beleaguered refugees in search of a safe haven.
